DESCRIPTION

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a work relief program created as part of Roosevelt's New Deal, established in 1933 under the Emergency Protective Work Act. CCC is primarily responsible for government outdoor programs, such as the creation and maintenance of national parks;to this day many of the attractions and trails we enjoy in US national parks are directly attributed to CCC staff.

Although a civilian organization, CCC clothing was under direct responsibility of the U. S. Army Quartermaster, hence all contracts for clothing were procured and developed via the U. S. Army QM. We masterfully recreated this extraordinarily rare work coat from the days of The Great Depression (only a few examples of this coat are known to exist today in private collections and not even the U. S. Army Quartermaster museum owns such a coat). It is noteworthy that a well-worn vintage example of this coat was outfitted on legendary actor James Stewart in the 1953 western film "The Naked Spur," where this classic style easily can be passed off as a style of the 1870's. This one is introducing again this classic design that is as handsome and durable as it was over 80 years ago.

No expense was spared in re-creating this gem from the days of extreme hardship and challenge in American history. Flacpcup’s deftly recreated a heavy worsted-wool blanket-like fabric using vintage machinery to both loom and assemble this fabulous work coat, then the waistband, a style common in the 1930’s, was custom made of singe-ply cotton and elastic using special looms indigenous to the era, resulting in amazing clone-like authenticity that is further complemented by the authentic cat’s-eye urea buttons.

Warm and durable enough to handle most autumn and winter outdoor activities, the unique shawl collar design was once so typical in "good times" outerwear, this masterpiece is sure to serve you as much as it does for the poor but- CCC's industrious people.

A great, vintage reproduction jacket. Lightweight yet warm.

This jacket is great. I'm planning on buying a spare one. Even though it feels fairly lightweight, it really is warm. The quality is top-notch. I wear it almost daily, works well layering in very cold weather.

Classic fit with classic style. The jacket reminds me in style of the jacket worn by Captain Kirk in the classic episode of Star Trek "City On The Edge Of Forever." I love this jacket and love the comfort and style.

Warm and great style

Today was the first day it was cold enough to wear my CCC vintage jacket. It has a unique style that is great to wear to church or other venues that it would be nice to dress up a little bit.

A fantastic gift!

Bought this as a gift for my brother. It fit right in with his more retro hunting gear. Opened the box and had to put it on immediately. Was very pleased with the quality and retro styling. Only con we have is the elastic waistband likes to ride up if you have anything hooked to your belt. Other than that, it’s warm, tough and a very good looking coat. 10/10 would reccomend.

Very nice jacket.

Lightweight yet warm. This jacket reminds me of the jacket I had as a kid in the late 60’s and early 70’s.
